How long does it take to get a home ready to sell?

Many homes can be ready in about four weeks if you start with a plan: sort, fix, clean, stage, and photograph. Your home may need more or less time. You do not need to do everything. You need to do the right things in the right order. The Mike Webb Team (Mike and Claudia Webb, RE/MAX Allegiance) helps homeowners in Arlington, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC get their homes ready to sell and sold.

Week 1: Walk through and plan

  • Walk through every room with fresh eyes, or with us.

  • Sort each project into Keep, Fix, Improve, or Skip. Strategy before spending.

  • Start clearing closets, the garage, and counters.

Week 2: Fix and paint

  • Repair small things buyers notice: drips, loose handles, cracked caulk, stuck doors.

  • Touch up or repaint in a neutral color.

  • Replace burned-out bulbs.

Week 3: Clean and stage

  • Deep clean, including carpets and windows.

  • Stage the main rooms: fewer items, clear surfaces, good light.

  • Handle the yard: leaves, mulch, front walk.

Week 4: Photos and launch

  • Final cleaning the day before photos.

  • Professional photos and videos

  • Set the price from recent sales of similar homes, then go live.

Who does the work?

Every seller gets The White Glove Home Sale Method at no additional cost, whatever the price or type of home. That can include painting, repairs, physical staging, deep cleaning, carpet and window cleaning, caulking, power washing, landscaping, and removing items you do not want to move. We get your home ready to win at no cost to you.

What if I need to list sooner?

Tell us your date. We build the plan backward from it. Nobody can promise a sale date or price, but a clear plan helps.
