Meet the team
We're Mike & Claudia Webb
How we got here
We've been in real estate for more than 34 years, and somewhere along the way, our clients became a lot more than transactions to us.
That probably has a lot to do with how each of us got into this business in the first place.
Mike started young. At 21, he had already bought his first house, and by 22, he had been working in sales for a couple of years. He liked sales and loved working with people, but he didn't always feel good about the product he was selling or the way he was being asked to sell it.
Real estate felt different.
He got his license, went into the business full time at 22, and loved it almost immediately. He loved meeting people, helping them make decisions and, most of all, being able to give people a straight answer without pressuring them into something that wasn't right for them.
Claudia found real estate in a completely different way.
Her sister was buying a house, and Claudia would go along to look at homes with her. She started talking with her sister's Realtor, watching what he did and thinking, I think I would really like doing this.
So at 23, Claudia got her real estate license and jumped in.
The beginning wasn't easy. About a year later, though, she met Mike. We started working together, and two years after that, we got married.
We've been partners in life and real estate ever since.
Talk to Mike & Claudia
We're very different. And that's a good thing.
Mike is the big-picture person. He loves talking with people, building relationships, solving problems and negotiating. Put him across the table from another agent with a difficult situation to work through, and he's pretty happy.
Claudia is the one sweating the details.
She's building the timeline, coordinating contractors and crews, overseeing the preparation of the home, managing the marketing and making sure everything actually gets done.
She's also the one looking at a seller's house and asking, Do they really need to spend money on this?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
A lot of times, it's no.
We're not going to recommend an expensive renovation just because somebody on the internet says every house needs a new kitchen before it can sell. If we believe your money is better left in your pocket, we're going to tell you that.
That's pretty much how we approach everything.
We're not here to talk you into something.
One of the things Mike realized very early in his career is that real estate is a relationship business, not a hard-sell business.
That fits us.
We don't like putting pressure on people, and we don't believe that's what a good real estate agent is supposed to do.
We've met people who were ready to put their home on the market immediately. We've had other people we stayed in touch with for five or ten years before the time was finally right, checking in once or twice a year, talking about the market, what their home might be worth, or often just about life. There was no ten-year sales plan behind those relationships. They just weren't ready until they were ready.
Over the years, we've sat at kitchen tables with people facing all kinds of circumstances.
We've helped families who were excited and ready to move right away. We've helped people downsize after decades in the same home. We've worked with people whose retirement was tied up in their house. We've helped people after losing a spouse.
We've also worked with homeowners going through serious financial hardship, people who were in danger of losing their homes. In some cases, we were able to get the home sold before foreclosure. In others, a short sale provided a way forward.
Those experiences stay with you.
They remind you that when somebody calls us about selling a house, we don't always know what's happening behind that phone call.
And sometimes the house is the easy part.
We take your trust personally.
That's probably the simplest way to explain how we work.
Whether someone is buying or selling, we think about how we would want that person treated if they were one of our own kids, our parents or our grandparents.
If we're representing a buyer and we discover during the inspection that the house isn't nearly as good as everyone thought it was, we'll say so.
We've had buyers walk away from homes after inspections because we realized the property was going to require much more work than they wanted to take on.
Yes, that means we lose that sale.
That's okay.
There will be another house.
We'd much rather have someone call us years later and say, “You helped us make the right decision,” than make a commission on a house we didn't think they should buy.
It's the same with sellers.
Whether we're selling a small condo or a large luxury home, we don't look at one and decide it deserves more effort because the commission is bigger.
For the person who owns that condo, that property may represent everything they've worked for.
It matters to them.
So it matters to us.
And when we say we'll help get your home ready, we mean it.
After doing this for so many years, we also realized something else.
Sellers were constantly being told what they needed to do before putting their homes on the market:
Paint this. Fix that. Clean this up. Get rid of those things. Call a handyman. Find a stager. Power wash the house.
Then they were left to figure out how to get all of it done.
We didn't think that made much sense.
That's why the way we help sellers today includes The White Glove Home Sale Method™.
When your home needs it, we can coordinate services such as painting, professional staging, deep cleaning, landscaping and curb appeal, caulking, handyman repairs, power washing and removal of belongings or unwanted items, all to help get the home ready before buyers see it.
And The White Glove Home Sale Method™ is provided at no additional cost to our sellers.
For homes that need more substantial improvements, our Concierge Services™ can help eligible sellers complete approved renovations, such as kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, appliances or a new roof, with no upfront cost, interest or fees, and payment at closing.
But even then, we're not going to tell you to renovate something just because we can.
The first question is always:
Does this actually make sense for this house and this seller?
Because this is still your money.
It comes down to something pretty simple.
We don't make decisions based on what's best for Mike and Claudia.
We make them based on what we believe is best for the person sitting across the table from us.
There are plenty of times during a transaction when one of us will look at the other and say, “No. That's not what's best for our client.”
And that settles it.
Maybe that's also why, after all these years, we still enjoy doing this.
We get to help people move from one part of their lives to another. Sometimes it's exciting. Sometimes it's complicated. Sometimes it's emotional. Usually, it's a little bit of everything.
Whatever brought you to us, you don't have to have everything figured out before you call.
If you're thinking about buying, selling, downsizing or simply wondering what your options are, come talk to us.
We'll sit down, look at where you are, tell you what we really think and help you figure out what makes sense, even if the answer is that you're not ready yet.
And when you are ready to sell?
We get your home ready to win at no cost to you.
