VA home loans help Veterans, service members and their survivors buy, build, improve or refinance a home, and they may offer better terms than a traditional loan from a bank. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, nearly 90% of VA-backed loans are made with no down payment.
To use one, you need a Certificate of Eligibility, or COE, which shows your lender that you qualify. Eligibility depends on your service history and duty status.
