Buying a Home in Radnor/Fort Myer Heights

The right home, at the right price, with your eyes open, from the first conversation to closing day.

Buying in Radnor/Fort Myer Heights: Many Kinds of Buildings

Radnor/Fort Myer Heights sits in ZIP code 22209 between Rosslyn and Courthouse, with both Metro stations close by. In a short walk you can tour a 1960s high-rise known for its views, 1980s condo buildings, the Wooster and Mercer Lofts from 2007 and the townhome-style homes at Gaslight Square. Summer Hill is a townhome co-op.

Because the buildings differ so much, we help you compare the whole package: the space and light, the monthly fee and what it covers, amenities such as a pool or concierge, parking, storage and how the building is kept up.

What This Fall Means for Buyers Here

Condo buyers have more choices than a year ago. NVAR's Northern Virginia region had 49.7% more condos and townhouses for sale in September 2026 than a year earlier, and 5.7% more detached homes. Bright MLS put Arlington at about 3.9 months of supply that month, up from 3.0.

Prices are still up. Bright MLS reported Arlington's median sale price for July through September 2026 11.1% higher than a year earlier. With more listings, you can often take your time, see a second building and ask for repairs or help with closing costs.

When you find the one, we gather recent sales in the same building and similar buildings nearby, so your offer is grounded in what homes like it actually sold for.

What to Check Before You Buy

Start with the resale certificate. It lists the monthly fee and what it pays for, the reserves set aside for repairs, any special assessments and the rules on renting, pets and parking. In Virginia you have only a few days to review it once you receive it, so we read it with you that day.

If you are looking at a co-op such as Summer Hill, ask your lender early whether they finance co-op shares, and ask the co-op about its approval steps and monthly charges.

In the home itself, check the age of the heating and cooling, water heater, windows and appliances, and whether a parking space and storage come with it. In a building from before 1978, read the lead-based paint disclosure. Plan on a home inspection, booked by you or with names from us, and we will go over the findings with you and tell you plainly if a home is not the right one.
