What Your Home Is Worth in Maywood

A free home value from people who walk through your home, not a number from a website.

Your Free Maywood Home Value

With only about 200 homes, Maywood does not see many sales in a year. That makes an online estimate especially shaky here. We visit your home, compare it with the closest recent sales in Maywood and nearby, and tell you what we believe it would sell for today.

There is no cost and no obligation to list. Whether you are ready this year or just planning ahead, you will get a clear answer and no pressure.

Pricing a Home With Few Comparable Sales

When Maywood itself has few recent sales, we widen the search to similar early-1900s houses in Cherrydale, Lyon Village and other nearby neighborhoods. We match on age, style, size and condition, so a Foursquare is measured against Foursquares and a bungalow against bungalows.

Then we adjust for the lot, bedrooms and baths, how well updates fit the original house, the kitchen and baths, the basement, the roof, windows and systems, the porch, parking, and the walk to Clarendon. Those details matter more in a historic neighborhood, and an automated estimate does not see them.

You decide how much to do before you sell. We show you two prices side by side, one prepared and one as it is. Either way, we list your home and handle the sale.

What Your Assessment Does and Does Not Tell You

Arlington County mails its assessment notices every January. The county says it assesses property at 100% of fair market value as of January 1, and its 2026 residential assessments relied on sales from September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025.

Those sales can be more than a year old by the time you list, and the county cannot see your updates or what still needs work. Use the assessment as a guide, not as your price.

The Arlington Market Behind Your Number

Bright MLS reported that Arlington's median sale price for July through September 2026 was up 11.1% from a year earlier. That number covers every type of home in the county, so it shows the trend, not the value of a Maywood house.

Single-family homes face far less new competition than condos this fall. NVAR found detached listings in its Northern Virginia region up 5.7% in September 2026 from a year earlier, while condo and townhouse listings rose 49.7%. Arlington's supply was about 3.9 months that month, up from 3.0, according to Bright MLS. With more choices overall, buyers compare carefully, so your price should be backed by real sales.

What Buyers Value in a Maywood Home

Buyers here look for original character in good condition, like porches, woodwork and hardwood floors, along with updated kitchens and baths, a dry basement, a newer roof and heating and cooling, and a usable yard. We show you what your home already has and which improvements are worth making before you list, keeping the county's design review in mind for anything on the exterior.

How Your Home Value Visit Works

  • You pick a convenient time.
  • We tour your home and yard with you and note what Maywood buyers compare.
  • We bring the recent sales we used, from Maywood and nearby, and explain each one.
  • We give you a price for selling prepared and a price for selling as it is.
  • We tell you which updates are likely to pay off and which to skip.

Not planning to move yet? Keep the numbers, and we will update them with new sales whenever you ask.

When you sell with us, The White Glove Home Sale Method™ covers painting, handyman repairs, staging, deep cleaning and more at no additional cost to you, and we look at the price with you every month until your home sells. A seller wrote in a Google review that Claudia “was very knowledgeable of the local market” and “steered us in the best time to put our home on the market.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Maywood home value free?

Yes. It costs nothing, and you are not obligated to sell or to list with us.

How do you price a Maywood home when few have sold recently?

We add recent sales of similar early-1900s homes in nearby neighborhoods and adjust for the differences, so the number reflects your home.

Why is my assessment different from what my home would sell for?

Arlington County values homes as of January 1 based on older sales. Its 2026 values used sales from September 2024 through August 2025. We use the newest sales and see your home in person.

Does being in a local historic district affect my home's value?

We do not assume it raises or lowers it. We price your home from recent sales of similar homes, and we factor in how design review may affect any exterior work a buyer has in mind.
